The Story

When Seppelt started in the Grampians, many thought it was the lucrative draw of the gold rush. A chance at striking it rich, that was capturing Australia's imagination. But it wasn't metal John Seppelt and his team sought; something much more precious was hiding in plain sight. The fertile, gold-bearing soils of Bendigo offered a richness beyond comprehension. Gold would come and go; mines, open and close. Seppelt was carving a legacy in earth. They would become the creators of Sparkling Shiraz, Australia's answer to Champagne. Now a symbol of luxury, of prosperity, a true thoroughbred wine, synonymous with the Sport of Kings. From golden grounds they came, their mantra, as true today - as in 1858: "Unearth Greatness"
